Texas Tech awards more than $500,000 annually in scholarships for transfer students. Scholarships based on academics, financial need, academic interest and other criteria are awarded based on completion of the Texas Tech General Scholarship Application due March 1 for fall transfer students or November 15 for spring transfer students unless otherwise noted.
Things to remember:
- Prospective applicants can fill out the Scholarship Application for Incoming Transfer Students at the same time they fill out the Application for Admission at www.applytexas.org.
- Out-of-State or non-U.S. students who are awarded a Texas Tech academic scholarship (or combination of scholarships) in the amount of $1,000 or more will also receive a waiver of the non-resident tuition fee.
- FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

General Transfer Student Scholarships
PRESIDENTIAL TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP.
Texas Tech offers a special academic scholarship for transfer students each fall and spring semester. Students awarded the Presidential Transfer Scholarship must demonstrate documented financial need (submit the FAFSA) and be transferring from a community college with a minimum 2.75 GPA and 24 transferable credit hours. This scholarship is valued at $5,000 ($1,250 each fall and spring semester for total of 4 semesters).
Deadline: March 1 for fall transfer students (*FAFSA must be received by February 15) or November 15 for spring transfer students (*FAFSA must be received by November 1)
MAJOR-SPECIFIC & DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS.
Although most scholarships at Texas Tech University accept the general Scholarship Application for Incoming Transfer Students, applicants should also contact the college or department they plan to transfer in to for additional scholarship opportunities, special applications and/or deadlines specific to their major.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships
TTU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PHI THETA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIP.
A varying number of scholarships valued at $ 2,000.
A minimum 3.0 GPA, 36 or more transferable hours from a two-year college and at least one full semester of membership in Phi Theta Kappa are required. Preference is given to applicants who have served Phi Theta Kappa in a significant leadership capacity. Two letters of recommendation (one from the chapter advisor) as well as documentation of Phi Theta Kappa membership are required. Scholarship is awarded each semester ($500 each fall and spring semester) for a total of 4 semesters if a minimum 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment are maintained. Once at Texas Tech, the student must be an active member of Delta of Texas Alumni Association.

PHI THETA KAPPA LEADERSHIP AWARD SCHOLARSHIP.
(One) full tuition plus $1,000 per year scholarship.
The applicant must have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to Phi Theta Kappa at the regional and/or international levels. A minimum 3.25 GPA and at least 30 transferable hours are required. Two letters of recommendation (one must be from Phi Theta Kappa Regional or International Headquarters) and proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership are required. The scholarship is awarded each semester (full tuition plus $500 each fall and spring semester) for a total of 4 semesters if a minimum 3.0 GPA and full-time status (12 or more credit hours) are maintained. Recipients must also become an active member of the Delta of Texas Alumni Association.
